Community service is and will always be an important part of life of students of Kundan Vidya Mandir.

Community service hours completed in school will help the students to get admission and recognition in the best universities of the world. Each student from classes IX and X has to compulsorily choose to be a member of one of the four domains of community service at Kundan Vidya Mandir. These four domains are :- Udgam, Saksham, Kundanites ki narmada and Prarth. Each of these groups have specific aims and learning outcomes.

01. UDGAM (RISE )

UDGAM provides the students of class 9 & 10 an opportunity of a community noble cause of interacting with differently abled students. Students  outreach places like VRTC & School for Dumb &  Deaf Children to share and spread. Students,under the guidance of their mentors, teach various activities like dance ,music,art ,sports and cooking without fire. A charity fund raising by students  for this community service enables students to bring festival cheer of Diwali for their special friends . Not only do Kundanities go to VRTC or School for Deaf & Dumb  but their students are invited to put up their stalls in the special events of the school like Diwali Mela & Dadi-Nani Ki Rasoi.

Learning objectives :

This community service will be a blessing not only to these visually impaired and deaf and dumb children, but to our students of KVM, developing sensitivity and empathy and contributing meaningfully to society.

02. SAKSHAM

KVM is referred to as the KVM family where each member is taken care of . The support staff (Ayahs,Malis,Drivers, etc.) puts in their  best for the smooth functioning of the school. So their well being is given due attention. Saksham is the community service domain that provides social, legal and community literacy to the members of the support staff . They are made aware of human rights , government schemes and cyber awareness.  This  community service domain aims at making the support  alert,vigilant and community  and polity literate.

The aim is to  make  the support staff the  citizens who are aware of their rights and duties. To provide them  the knowledge of the system to avoid inconvenience at the govt offices ,banks or any other public sector institute.

Learning Objectives:

Understanding of  human rights inculcates the values of equality ,liberty and fraternity. SAKSHAM aims at educating and enlightening individuals about  human rights . SAKSHAM   provides  knowledge Sukanya Samridhi yojna, Balika Samridhi Yojana, beti bachao beti padhao , Udayan scheme of CBSE ( for girl students of XI only for KVs and NVs ) , government schools.

Participants will develop effective communication skills to facilitate constructive discussions among colleagues and students.

03. KUNDANITES KI NARMADA

Kundanite Ki Narmada is a community service initiative spearheaded by KVM, dedicated to fostering positive change and holistic development in the surrounding communities. Named after the revered river Narmada, symbolizing purity and rejuvenation, this program embodies the school's commitment to social responsibility and altruism.

The primary aim of Kundanite Ki Narmada is to actively engage students in meaningful community service endeavors that address various social issues and contribute towards the betterment of society. Through this initiative, we aspire to instill a sense of empathy, compassion, and civic responsibility in our students, nurturing them into socially conscious individuals who actively participate in creating a more equitable and harmonious world.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. It will enhance leadership skills
  2. It will improve their self- esteem
  3. Students will learn to take responsibilities
  4. They will have skills and learning from experience
  5. They will widen their knowledge and exploration of service- related careers
  6. Develop the ability to relate to people from wide range of backgrounds and life situations

Through Kundanite Ki Narmada, we aspire to inspire our students to become proactive agents of change, committed to making a difference in the lives of others and creating a more inclusive and compassionate society.

04. PRARTH

PRARTH Club, an esteemed initiative led by KUNDAN VIDYA MANDIR , is dedicated to uplifting the educational standards and socio-economic well-being of the underprivileged children in the Haibowal slum area of Ludhiana. Through our partnership with the Hindu Putri Pathshala, we strive to create a positive impact by providing educational support and opportunities for the students, fostering a brighter future for them and their community.

The primary aim of  PRARTH  is twofold: to enhance the educational prospects of the students at Hindu Putri Pathshala and to support the overall development of the community in Haibowal. By adopting the school and offering comprehensive assistance, including the provision of free education for two top-performing students, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and empower these children to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Learning Outcomes:

-To support the academic excellence of the students at Hindu Putri Pathshala by providing resources, tutoring, and mentorship, ensuring they receive a quality education and have the opportunity to excel in their studies.

-Students of Hindu Putri Pathshala are invited to KVM every year where they showcase their talent  in the form of dance on the occasion of Independence Day. -To empower the community in Haibowal by fostering partnerships, organizing outreach programs, and addressing socio-economic challenges, creating a supportive environment where families can thrive and children can reach their goals.

Through the dedicated efforts of Prarth, we aspire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students at Hindu Putri Pathshala and the broader community of Haibowal, paving the way for a brighter and more promising future for generations to come.
